In short

WebHunter Studio is a Tampa-based WordPress web design agency that builds websites for small and service businesses across the US — contractors, HVAC, appliance repair, cleaning, window tinting and more. A one-page landing site starts at $700 and a multi-page site at $1,100; both go live in 2–3 weeks. Every site is set up to be found on Google locally, and you own the domain, hosting and admin from day one. Pricing as of September 2026.

The Worries We Hear on Almost Every First Call

I don’t have a website, and customers are going to whoever shows up first on Google.
→We build your site around the searches people actually type in your city — your services, your area, your phone number where they expect to see it. That is what local SEO means, and every site includes the basics of it.
I’ve heard a website costs thousands and takes months.
→A one-page website is $700 and takes about two weeks. A full site with a page for each service starts at $1,100. You get the exact number in writing before anything starts — and it doesn’t change halfway through.
I don’t want to pay a subscription every month for the rest of my life.
→You pay us once, for the build. After that, the only ongoing cost is web hosting, paid directly to the hosting company — typically under $15 a month. Nothing comes to us unless you ask for more work.
What if I want to leave? I’ve heard of people losing their whole site.
→The domain, the hosting account and the WordPress login are in your name from the first day. If we part ways, the site keeps running and any WordPress developer can take over. No lock-in, no held domain.
I know nothing about websites and I don’t have time to learn.
→You don’t need to. We handle the technical side, record a walkthrough of your own site, and leave written instructions. Most clients change their own text and photos within a week of launch.
I tried Wix and it looks like everyone else’s site — and Google can’t find it.
→WordPress gives us full control over the design and over what Google sees. The comparison below is honest — including the cases where Wix is genuinely fine and we’ll tell you so.
Two ways to build

Start From a Proven Layout, or Design It From Scratch

Built on a proven layout

We start from a page structure that already works for service businesses — where the phone number goes, where the services go, what makes people call — and fit it to you: your logo, colours, photos, wording and city. Fast, affordable, and it doesn’t look like a template by the time we’re done.

Best forGetting online quickly · one-page landing sites · a tight budget · a first website
From$1,100$700

Custom design around your business

Every page designed from a blank canvas for your brand, your services and the cities you serve — or built exactly from a design you already have. More pages, more structure, and the extra setup that helps Google show your business details in search results.

Best forSeveral services or locations · an existing brand to match · businesses that want to outrank competitors, not just show up
From$2,500$1,900

Already have a mockup from a designer, or a site you like the look of? Bring it. We’ll build it in WordPress exactly as drawn — and tell you on the call if anything in it will hurt your Google ranking.

WordPress vs Wix vs GoDaddy

Which One Is Right for You? An Honest Comparison

Website builders are quicker to start with. That’s real, and we put it in the table. Where WordPress wins is everything that happens after month one: being found, growing, and owning what you paid for.

If a two-page brochure is genuinely all you need, a builder is fine and we’ll tell you so on the call. Most of the sites we’ve moved off Wix, GoDaddy and b12.io came to us because the business had outgrown the platform — not because someone talked them into WordPress.

STAGE 01

We talk — 45 minutes

Your services, the areas you cover, who you’re up against, and what you want the website to do for you. No homework needed.

STAGE 02

Pages and words

We map out the pages and write the text. You read and approve everything before design starts.

STAGE 03

Build

Your site takes shape on a private preview link. You can look in every day and send notes.

STAGE 04

Launch

We put it live, connect it to Google, record a walkthrough of your own site, and fix anything that comes up for 30 days — free.

For the technically minded — how we actually build it
Lean build
Elementor with a controlled widget set, or a custom theme with no builder at all. Your call, and we’ll tell you which fits your budget.
Minimal plugin stack
Usually under ten. Every one justified and documented.
ACF for scale
Dynamic city and service pages driven by custom fields, so twenty location pages don’t mean twenty hand-built layouts.
Core Web Vitals work
Image compression to WebP, CSS minification, caching, CDN, lazy loading, deferred scripts.
SEO structure
Heading hierarchy, internal linking plan, clean URLs, XML sitemap, AIOSEO configuration, schema markup.
Security hardening
Login protection, file permissions, SSL, automated off-site backups.
Tracking pipeline
CallRail dynamic number insertion, GTM container, GA4, Google Ads conversions — set up and verified, not just installed.
Email deliverability
SMTP configured so your form submissions actually arrive.
Staging environment
Test before it goes live. Every time.
Handoff
Admin credentials, a recorded walkthrough of your own site, written documentation.

Questions

WordPress Website Questions, Answered Plainly

How much does a WordPress website cost?

Right now a one-page landing site starts at $700 (regular price $1,100). A starter site from three pages with search-engine basics starts at $1,100 (regular $1,500). Service businesses that need 10–12 pages, a page per service and a page per city start at $1,900 (regular $2,500) and typically land under $3,500. Call tracking and analytics setup are quoted on top. Prices as of September 2026.

How long does it take to build?

Two to three weeks for most sites. Larger builds with city pages or a move from another platform take three to four. The biggest factor is how quickly you review the text and design we send — not the build itself.

I don’t have a logo, photos or any text. Can you still build my site?

Yes. We write the text from our first call — you don’t need to send anything written. For photos we use pictures from your jobs, and licensed stock where you don’t have any. Logo design is available as a separate service.

Do I have to pay you every month?

No. You pay once for the build. The only ongoing cost is web hosting, paid directly to the hosting company in your own name — typically under $15 a month. There is no subscription to us and no maintenance contract you have to sign.

Will I be able to change things myself?

Yes. You get full admin access, a recorded video walkthrough of your own site, and written instructions. Most clients handle their own text and photo changes within a week of launch. Bigger changes you can send to us and pay per job.

Who owns the domain and the website?

You do, from day one, in your name. You pay the hosting company directly — no markup and no dependency on us. If you stop working with us, the site keeps running and any competent WordPress developer can pick it up.

Why WordPress and not Wix or GoDaddy?

Three reasons: you own it outright instead of renting it; Google can be told exactly what your business does and where; and it can grow to twenty city pages without starting over. Wix is quicker to start and fine for a two-page brochure — we’ll tell you honestly if that’s all you need.

I already have a website. Can you fix it instead of starting over?

Often, yes. We speed up slow WordPress sites, clean up hacked ones (malware removal from $125), and move sites off Wix, Squarespace and GoDaddy without losing your rankings. The free consultation tells you whether repair or rebuild is the cheaper route.

Do you work with businesses outside Tampa and Florida?

Yes. Roughly half our clients are elsewhere — Washington State, California, Oregon, Colorado and Delaware. Everything runs by video call and shared documents.

Who builds it
Kateryna Cherkas, founder of WebHunter Studio

Led by Someone Who Has Done Every Step Herself

WebHunter Studio is a small team led by Kateryna Cherkas. She founded the studio in Tampa after fifteen years in marketing, including four years as Head of Marketing for a restaurant group in Ukraine — and before she managed anyone, she built, wrote, ranked and advertised websites with her own hands. Today she runs the process end to end: a team of designers, developers and SEO specialists does the building, and Kateryna stays on every project from the first call to launch. She’s the one you talk to on the consultation, and the one accountable for the result.
